A year after the LA floods...Albany is still searching for forever!

humane_society_adoption_la_floodsAs the summer months approach, it's almost one year since we rescued 200 dogs from flooded shelters across our state. Albany was part of the first group of "Disaster Dogs" rescued August of 2016. The group of 22 were transported by volunteers from Tangi Humane Society, a no-kill shelter in the Hammond area completely submerged in the floods. Since that time, he was treated for heartworm disease, neutered and updated on his vaccinations. He has also watched each of his 21 fellow displaced friends find their forever families, leaving him wondering why he has not been picked. Fortunately for Albany, the staff and volunteers of St. Tammany Humane Society have not given up on this tri-colored beauty. They asked that we do a feature on this deserving pup and so here it is.

Albany is a three-year-old large breed mix. This 80+ lb male is still full of puppy energy and the perfect age for training. Albany is treat motivated, loves his yard time and playing in our kiddie pools. He would be the perfect companion for a ruff and tuff guy who can handle his tenacity, power and the amount of love he will give!

humane_society_adoption_LA_floodsAlthough Albany has been in our care for right under a year, his stay with Tangi began many months before our rescue. A loving home with a comfy couch and a yard to play in is long overdue for Albany! Please help us share his story and find him what he has deserved for far too long!

In addition to Albany, there are also two other "Disaster Dogs" waiting for their forever homes! Millerville (rescued from Vermillion Parish) and Klunk (Iberia Parish) are still at our rescue waiting for their perfect family to arrive.
