Black Beard is one of the 14 "Pirate Pups" we rescued from another group that will soon have to close its doors. Unfortunately a few of the pups are very timid and scared (Schmee, Murtogg, Davy Jones and Black Beard.) Our kennel staff is dedicated to making sure their stay with us is as comfortable as possible, allowing them the best chance to find a forever family.
Staff has begun to sit with the dogs in their kennels, slowly introducing them to each of us. Last week we were able to pair Black Beard with another outgoing puppy named Leige! Black Beard was so scared, she wouldn't even walk to the play yards to meet Leige. Staff had to place her in one of our carts and wheel her to the yards! Well, it turned out to be just what Ms. Black Beard needed! After some much needed play time, Black Beard was able to walk, on leash all the way back to her kennel! Needless to say, her and Leige are now kennel mates. We are hoping Leige will teach Black Beard that humans are not scary and can be trusted.
It may be a long road for these four pups, but we know they will find a perfect home full of patience and love!
