At St. Tammany Humane Society, our individual supporters are a vital part of our organization's success. The events of yesterday's GiveNOLA Day prove just that.
This year was our shelter's first year participating in GiveNOLA. As most of you know the site was down for most of the day and it hurt the hundreds if not thousands of non-profits participating nationwide. With that said, we are happy to report that even with the day's tragedies, we were still able to raise $7,453 for the homeless animals in our community. We also raised additional, direct donations to our site after the GiveNOLA site crashed. AND our shelter raised the most of any non-profit in St Tammany, a great achievement!
We would personally like to thank our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and especially our individual donors for getting involved with this event. Because of our supporters and their urgency to help our organization, the day was still a success.
