We'd like to introduce you to our new Director of Placement, Programs and Welfare, Ms. Jacqie Bella! Jacqie has worked for our organization for over five years in both kennels and adoptions and has dedicated every second to saving the lives of homeless cats and dogs within our community. Her knowledge and experience in the animal welfare community are not the only qualifications she has. This young woman just has a knack for animals! Scott Bernier, CEO fo St. Tammany Humane Society, said the decision was easy. "Her knowledge and confidence with companion animals is beyond anyone I have ever met. She watched my dog, Chase, while I was on vacation and was able to teach him things in a few days that I couldn't in years!" Her focus for 2017 will be to boost the shelter's adoptions while focusing on community outreach and programs.
