Savannah's Rescue Story

Dear Supporter,

My name is Savannah, and this is my story. Several months ago I was brought to St. Tammany Humane Society by a kind woman who found me roaming on the Lakefront cold, hungry, and alone. Because of supporters like you, STHS was able to rescue me and provide all of the love and care I needed to make an incredible transformation.

As you can see from my photos, I was completely emaciated when I arrived. I weighed a shocking 30 pounds less than what I should have due to going without food for an untold amount of time. When I moved, my bones made an audible creaking noise from being malnourished. If that wasn't enough, I was suffering from heartworm disease and covered in fleas and a fungal infection called ringworm.

I have such a sweet nature and wonderful personality; why would someone do this to me?

Thanks to St. Tammany Humane Society and kind donors like you, I have since gained 20 pounds! Although I still have a long way to go, I have made great strides and am on the road to recovery. All of us rescued animals here at STHS need your help. Please give now to ensure that they can continue their lifesaving work for others like me!

Sincerely,
