One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure - Boo Boo's Adoption Story

Below is the original plea from Boo Boo's rescuer:

"I am in desperate need of some help. One December morning I was leaving for work when I saw something odd inside my trash can. It was only 28 degrees that morning so I was reluctant to get out of my car to see what was going on. However, my instinct made me go see exactly what this white “thing” was shaking like a plastic bag. To my utter shock it was a tiny, curled up, shivering puppy! It was obvious she had been placed there and hypothermia was setting in. She was flea infested, very weak and the hair on her tail was completely gone. I live on a busy highway so it was obvious that her condition actually kept her from imminent death by car. I immediately sought medical attention and began caring for her. The vet determined that she was all of approximately two-weeks-old and would need constant care due to her young age.

She has all of her shots and is now a very healthy and very active puppy. I’ve been searching this entire time for a proper home for her with no success. She so much deserves a forever family to match her fun loving, energetic and happy ways."

And so we took Boo Boo into our rescue. In less than one month's time, this little pup found in a trash can had become a family's treasure!

Below is the reaction of her rescuer, Cheryl:

"I am so happy for my little angel!!! Boo Boo came to school with me for several months when we were ALL nursing her back to good health. As one of my students put it, 'The Legend of Boo Boo lives on! Someone's trash, became someone else's treasure.' My students now have first hand knowledge of a tragedy to triumph story.

How can I ever repay you for your thoughtfulness and empathy? It is with tear filled eyes that I type this and say once again thank you for making the impossible decision to give up this angel a dream realized for a wonderful, loving, home with a family for Boo Boo. If anyone would have told me when I found that puppy shivering, near death, abandoned in my trash can on that freezing cold day in December that the final chapter would read she found her forever family and lived happily ever after with her new mom, dad, brother dog and soon a baby too, I just couldn't have even dreamed that dream ending for her. God bless you all for the works you do."
