Please Read

PLEASE READ: The $35 cost (per cat) is due at drop-off. Kittens must weigh atleast 2 lbs. in order to take advantage of this program. Drop-off is between 8 AM - 10 AM. Pick-up is the same day between 4 PM - 5 PM. Each cat must be brought in a hard carrier or trap. One cat per trap. Soft or fabric carriers are not premitted.
PLEASE READ: This program is help decrease the feral/community cat population. Be advised that the left ear will be clipped a few centimeters to serve as a universal indicator that the cat has been altered and therefore is no longer contributing to the population.
PLEASE READ: I am aware that any anesthetic procedure carries risk of complications including death. There are certain conditions such as Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus that are prevalent in feral cat populations. These diseases increase the incidence of other health problems that can increase the number of anesthetic complications. Other conditions, diabetes, kidney disease and liver diesease can also be present that can cause and increase anesthetic risks to the patient. Some of these diseases can be detected on physical exam alone. Due to the nature of feral cats, physical examination prior to anesthesia induction is not possible. In the case of anesthetic complications including death, I do not hold the staff of Northshore Humane Society liable for any damages.
