Events & Marketing Coordinator
A native of Slidell, Louisiana, Mikaela Martin joined Northshore Humane Society in June of 2025 as a Marketing Assistant before expanding her role to become the organization’s Events & Marketing Coordinator. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of New Orleans and brings a passion for creativity, community engagement, and animal welfare to the NHS team.
In her role, Mikaela helps lead Northshore Humane Society’s marketing efforts, including social media, digital communications, and campaigns that raise awareness for adoptable pets and lifesaving programs. She also coordinates the organization’s signature fundraising events and works to strengthen relationships with community partners and supporters throughout the Northshore.
A lifelong animal lover, Mikaela has a rescue family of her own at home, including three cats, a blue pit bull named Winnie, who was adopted from St. Tammany Parish Animal Services, and a gecko named Moose.
Mikaela is passionate about using marketing and events to connect the community with Northshore Humane Society’s mission and help create brighter futures for homeless animals.
