Melanie Oubre

Director of Development

Melanie Oubre serves as the Director of Development for Northshore Humane Society, where she leads the organization’s fundraising efforts and works to build support for the Capital Campaign. This campaign will fund the construction of a new facility that will expand lifesaving services for animals in need and include a state-of-the-art veterinary clinic to better serve the Northshore community.

Melanie brings more than a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, communications, and community engagement. She has built strong relationships with supporters, organized impactful events, and created meaningful opportunities for people to connect with causes that matter.

She holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Louisiana State University.

Melanie’s connection to Northshore Humane Society is deeply personal. A client since 2019, she has also fostered multiple dogs through the shelter. She shares her home with three rescue pets, two cats adopted in Virginia and her dog Annie, whom she adopted from Northshore Humane Society.

Melanie is passionate about helping animals and the people who care for them and is committed to strengthening the organization’s lifesaving mission for years to come!!
