We’d like to let everyone know the shelter is in good condition. We’ve had absolutely no flooding and are fully staffed for the unexpected! With rising waters in our area now and in the upcoming days, we do expect to receive displaced animals. It will be our top priority to find shelter for these pets and reunite them with their owners.

Summer is approaching and while for many of us that means hot weather and bikinis, for the St. Tammany Humane
Valentine gave birth to 5 babies and she is the best mommy ever. Some kittens are not this lucky and need our help.

Have you ever heard the saying, A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words? Well, this picture was worth a million!
As I was driving into work today I received a text from our Director of Shelter Operations, Janie Valle. Its was an update on Sue Sue's new home. The text read, "Sue Sue watching TV from her bed." And the picture to the right explains just how Ms. Sue Sue is doing in her new home.

Katie was originally adopted from our shelter years ago for a playmate to a family’s puppy named Buddy. For many years both Buddy and Katie served as companion animals until suddenly, one day their adopted father committed suicide. Friday, January 15th marked a record for the St. Tammany Humane Society and our fight to end homeless animals in our community.
