Meet Hannah, a 2 ½ year old Border Collie/Pit Mix looking for a home at the St. Tammany Humane Society. Hannah is the longest resident of our shelter and the only dog to have called the humane society her home since before the floods in August. As many of you are aware, the St. Tammany Humane Society has taken in close to 200 dogs since the recent flooding. These dogs were rescued from flooded shelters in surrounding areas including Tangipahoa, Livingston, Vermillion and Lafayette parishes. This Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm the St. Tammany Humane Society will begin the process of spay/neutering 40 of the 150 + dogs rescued from flooded shelters across our state. In the last couple of weeks our shelter has incurred thousands of dollars in AC and water expenses. Repairs like these can't be put off. Meet Dr. April C. Kelly, DVM: Dr. Kelly was born and raised in New Orleans, LA where her love for animals began.
