We're hiring for the following positions: 

Part-time Handyman 

Northshore Humane Society is looking for a skilled and hard-working handyman to assist in maintaining our facility as well as the grounds and kennel units. Responsibilities will include the maintenance and upkeep of equipment, and facilities both interior and exterior. Handyman responsibilities: · Inspect all NHS grounds daily to identify problems with kennel units and the building · Respond to NHS requests for maintenance services, including replacing air filters, installing lights, repairing kennels and general handyman needs across the facility · Troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, and HVAC as needed · Ensure the parking lot and grounds are free from litter and debris
 
Qualifications: · High school diploma or GED preferred · Preferred experience with plumbing and electrical systems · Experience with common hand and power tools · Ability to communicate well with management · Willingness to uphold company standards for safety, animal care and efficiency

Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

Responsibilities include the following: scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients, preparing and maintaining medical records, admitting and discharging patients, filling some prescriptions, over the counter sales, mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, filing, and front office/reception area maintenance.

Our receptionists provide exceptional customer service in a high-volume clinic and adoption rescue. Oftentimes, they have to handle difficult situations. Background test and drug screening required. Veterinary experience is preferred but not required.

Schedule is various days during the week (8 AM - 5:30 PM). Once a week you may have to open at 7:15 AM. We also require alternating Saturday shifts from 7:30 AM - 2 PM AND the ability to occasionally stay past closing time for emergencies.
