Community Programs Supervisor
Ashleigh is originally from Hickory, North Carolina, where she developed her love for animals at a very young age and volunteered at her local rescue throughout high school. She went to college at North Carolina State University where she majored in Criminology and double-minored in Nonprofit Studies and Animal Science. Her first job out of college was as an Animal Control Officer for a no-kill city in West Columbia, SC. When the no-kill program was threatened by budget cuts a year later, she became an Adoption Counselor at a rescue in Columbia, SC, called Pawmetto Lifeline for an additional year. In August of 2016, she began working at Northshore Humane Society after moving to Louisiana with her husband. Her job primarily focuses on the management of our volunteer force and the programs they are associated with including Canine Cabbies, Puppy Pop Ins, and Summer Camp. Ashleigh is dedicated to helping NHS create a no-kill community for companion animals in any way that she can. Her house is home to seven cats of varying ages and disabilities and a 10 year old dog named Allie, all rescues.
